"Mandarin doesn't have its ribbon-cutting by Mayor Francis Slay until Friday and its grand opening until Saturday. But weeks before its opening, the new lounge has already established itself as the nightspot of choice."

Mandarin, the first rooftop lounge to open in the Central West End, is the latest nightlife offering from the operators of Nectar and the Pepper Lounge. Located at 44 Maryland Plaza, overlooking the renovated CWE fountain, Mandarin promises to bring Pete Ferretti and Buddy Coy's signature style to St. Louis' most cosmopolitan neighborhood.

New York-based designer Scott Kester (Sushisamba/NY, Lotus/NY, Rumi/Miami, Frisson/SF) bought together traditional and contemporary decor elements to create Mandarin's chic Asian-inspired look.

Mandarin's drink menu features a selection of exotic options including an ultrapremium $50 Gold Standard cosmopolitan garnished with real gold. Mandarin's specialty drinks can also be enjoyed as drink tapas - an ideal option for guests wanting to share and sample a variety of innovative cocktails.
